You Finally Made It!
I hope you have been having a great time on the 100 Blocks Magazine Blog Tour! I’m glad that you found me here in my corner of the world. I have a little post-it note stuck to my computer screen that says, “I live in my own little world but it’s okay, they know me here!” So welcome, sit back and relax and enjoy a few minutes with me.
I am excited to have a block in this wonderful magazine once again and hope that you will find it is just what you need to make up something quick for the holidays. My block is called “Shine a Little Light” and it actually has a little bit of special meaning to me as we place candles, just like this, in all of our windows for the month of December.
This block would be lovely if you combined three of the blocks together to make a table runner or even use it to make a mantle cover over your fireplace.
Since I like to do things a little differently, I’m also showing how you can make a simple wallhanging of a window and add the candles to the windowsill. For a little special touch, I added the moon and a silhouette of Santa and his reindeer flying off into the night.
If you would like to make a similar wallhanging, I’m offering a free download of the Santa and reindeer silhouette called “Santa’s Flight” as a free pdf that you can print out on your own computer. In order to get the free download, you just need to sign up for my newsletter. Don’t worry, I only send one out when I have a new design coming out or if I have some quilt related news to share, so your inbox won’t be overrun with emails from me. I’ll be sending out a newsletter next week with a link for the free download.
Sign up for the newsletter here.
I also have a couple of giveaways for you here. You can win one of three of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Magazines, I’ll be sending out two magazines and Quiltmaker will mail out the third. I’ll also be giving away three of my patterns. To win one of these six prizes, simply go to my website, decide which pattern you would like to win, and then come back here and tell me which one you would like, by leaving a comment below. Six lucky winners will be selected Monday morning and I will contact the winners to get a mailing address.
If you haven’t already “liked” me on Facebook, please do so, as that is the quickest way to see what’s new in my world. Click here to be added to my Facebook fans.
Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Like the holiday candle block…
Kaylace
Action Jackson would be one of many that I fell in love with. Now if I had more time I just might be able to make it.
Owl Be Seeing U is the one I like and I love your block, thanks for the giveaway.
smjohns63 at yahoo dot com
Your block for Volume 8 is perfect. I am looking for cornerstone blocks for a couple of Christmas quilts and this block resized will be perfect for one for an outer border. Santa Mouse would make the perfect cornerstone for another Christmas quilt border so it is the one I choose. How wonderful to find the solutions to my search on one website—yours.
Stitchin’ Addiction from you web site. but so many other are cute too–a spot of tea makes me smile.
So you’re the designer of My favorite earrings!! I have that pattern and just love it. I also love the Sweety Cat one and of course the Stitch one too. Great designs – you’re so creative! Congrats on your block being in the magazine!

Love your patterns, my favorite is the cutie patootie. Your candle block is very nice too and I like the Santa going through the sky.
Love your block and the window quilt is great. Looked at the patterns and love Stitchin Addiction. I think it would look great on the wall in my sewing room — above my computer and printer so that I would see it everytime I sat down here!
“Me and My Peeps” is adorable. They are all adorable but I have a thing for birds. Love to watch the birds at the feeder outside and feed the hummers too. Fascinating little critters. Congratulations on your block in the magazine.
My favorite earnings, I did like the frog days of summer also
I love your patterns and I think Sweety Cats would be my choice, I love kitties.
I also signed up for your newsletter, love being able to follow the latest news and patterns, by email.

I think Tweet is my favorite, although Stitch and Spot of Tea are close seconds.
Lovely block. My favorite pattern is Stitchin’ Addiction. Thank you for the giveaway.
Love “Frog Days of Summer”
I follow your blog and you on Facebook. I remember your block from 100 Blocks 7. I love your designs and my favorite patterns would be “My Favorite Earrings-A Giraffe Quilt” and “Flamingo Frolics”.

Oh, I adore Santa Mouse.! You have so many great patterns. I’ll be back
Crusin’ caught my eye, but they are all fantastic.
Stitchin’ Addiction! Love it!
Cruisin’ would be my choice. My son and his fiancé have a bike them going. Wouldn’t this make an adorable quilt to give them?

My favorite earrings!! How clever and a neat idea, Your block though is even better, keep up the good work. kathy
Congratulations for being published again! I really like your Shine a Little Light block. My parents used to put an ornament that looks like that in our window at Christmas time. It brings back great memories. I like your Snowmen-Some Assembly Required pattern. I’d love to make this little quilt for my mother-in-law. She loves santas and snowmen! I also like your Santa Mouse pattern. I’m really torn! Thanks for the chance to win!
I like Cruisin’. I guess that is because I just finished a 4800 mile cross country bicycle ride to raise money for our local Hospice house. Now I am back to quilting and I have missed it so much. I visited several shops on the way across the country and the owners were all so nice to let me “feel” the fabric. I missed it so much on my ride!!! LOL. Thanks for the opportunity to win the magazine and one of your patterns.
Great block! I found so many cute patterns on your web page. I love the giraffes–so cute!

I liked so many of your patterns but I will choose Jiggity jig. Love your block and thank you
I like them all but I think I will have to flip a coin to decide between Flamingo frolics or Snowmen, some assembly required. They are both cute and such opposites, (cold vs hot).
Congratulations on having such a timely block included in the winter issue, it reminds me of the electric candles we put in our big window for years, they got lost in the move with other things that I miss at the holidays.
All the patterns are so cute, but my favorite is Gorgeous Gourds…maybe because it’s fall.
Your candle pattern is great.
I love your candles and would love to have this book for myself, thanks.
They are all so cute, but at this moment in time, I have to say Flamingo Frolics is the “cat’s Meow”. In 5 minutes it might be the Snowmen, with some assembly required or the Jiggity Jig. The candles are wonderful and I’m glad I found you.
What a wonderful design that I’d love to make. Great wallhanging. I signed up for your newsletter. And your block in the Quiltmaker 100 blocks volume 8 is lovely. Versatile design with great detail.
